Are you a payroll professional who takes pride in accuracy, organisation and helping people get paid correctly and on time?

Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services (SCECS) is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our supportive Finance team. This is a great opportunity to work in a purpose-driven organisation that supports early childhood education across Sydney.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Payroll Officer, you will play an important role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services for more than 900 employees.

Working in a collaborative team environment, you will ensure the timely and accurate production of the end-to-end payroll.

This is a role for someone who enjoys detail, problem solving and providing service to SCECS staff.

Key responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Work with the Senior Payroll Officer to produce accurate fortnightly payroll for 900+
  • Calculate and process payroll adjustments and termination payments
  • Report and reconcile Single Touch Payroll (STP) 
  • Ensure accurate uploading of payroll data into Technology One Finance System
  • Maintain payroll records
  • Administer government parental leave payments
  • Provide payroll advice and support to SCECS employees
  • Contribute to payroll process improvements and system projects

About you

You are a payroll professional who values accuracy, organisation and teamwork.

You will bring:

  • Minimum 2yrs experience in end-to-end payroll for 900+ employees involving large casual workforce
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, superannuation, taxation and STP requirements
  • Knowledge of or ability to interpret Children's Services Award [MA000120],and Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2020 [MA000077]
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Experience with Elmo/Definitiv payroll software will be highly regarded.
